Langrenn.com reports that Norwegian star Marit Bjørgen was hospitalized Saturday night with an irregular heartbeat.
Bjørgen first noticed something was awry following her Friday workout, according to a story on aftenposten.no.
On Saturday, she finished an interval workout with a higher than normal heart rate. While it eventually normalized, she was admitted to a hospital for observation. The story continues that doctors found nothing wrong “so far,”and expect to discharge her on Sunday. Although she should be able to resume training, she’s been advised to skip the Tour de Ski.
At present, no information’s available as to whether Bjørgen will undergo additional testing or whether she’ll compete in the Tour de Ski.
