South Africa’s Ryan Sandes and Leadville, CO native Lynette Clemons won the Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado on Saturday. The “Race Across the Sky” starts from one of the highest municipalities in the U.S. The out and back course ranges between 9200 and 12,600 feet altitude.
Sandes’s time was 16:46:54. Aspen, CO’s Dylan Bowman was second, 32 minutes back in 17:18:59. Neal Gorman was third, in 17:48:51. Vermont 100 winter Michael Arnstein came fourth.
As the female winner, Clemons was tenth overall, finishing in 19:59:06. Rhonda Claridge was second, in 21:11:24. Less than two minutes, back, Andrea Metz was third overall woman, with a time of 21:13:14.
